Me Made of Others
Me Made of Others is an interactive VR artwork that gathers each participant’s movements into a continuously evolving digital body. Inside the virtual space, visitors first encounter a digital version of the artist that functions as an immediate mirror, generated through real-time motion capture that reflects the viewer’s gestures with simple but precise clarity. After this encounter, the visitor steps inside the mirrored figure and meets a second body made entirely of moving particles. Their limbs create soft fields of gravity, allowing the particles to surround them, respond to their motions, or drift into a quiet dance.
Each interaction is recorded, encoded, and added to a growing archive of gestures. Before the next visitor arrives, the system generates a new animation shaped by all previous movements. No participant fully disappears; each becomes part of what the next person sees.
By turning motion into inheritable data, Me Made of Others explores how identity can be formed through the traces of many bodies.
